Since 2008, pampeano has brought together Argentina's rich leather-working traditions with a distinctly British approach to design. What began with an appreciation for exceptional materials and artisanal skill has grown into an international lifestyle brand, recognised for its handwoven Pampa diamonds and understated leather accessories.
As pampeano marks its 18th anniversary, we look back at the influences, people and ideas that have shaped its journey.
rooted in Argentina
The pampeano story began when our founder, Jennifer Brown, travelled to Argentina and encountered a culture in which leather craftsmanship is woven into everyday life.
Across the country, generations of artisans have developed a deep understanding of the material, working with care, precision and respect for traditional technique. Inspired by what she discovered, Jennifer began collaborating with local craftspeople to create a collection of leather accessories for a wider audience.
The name pampeano means "from La Pampa", a reference to the expansive Argentine region where the idea for the brand first took shape.
The early pampeano collection brought together leather goods and polo equipment, but the belt soon emerged as the defining accessory. Rich vegetable-tanned leather, colourful wax-dipped saddlery thread, and intricate handwoven detailing transformed a familiar accessory into something distinctive, establishing a design language that remains central to pampeano today.

a recognisable signature
At the heart of each design is the Pampa diamond, inspired by ancient Andean motifs and the landscapes of South America.
The pattern is woven by hand using wax-dipped saddlery thread, with a single belt taking up to five hours to complete. Each stitch is placed with care; the small variations between the accessories aren't flaws to smooth away, but evidence of the hands that made them.
Vegetable-tanned leather provides the foundation for this work. Created using natural tannins through a slower, traditional process, it has a rich surface that complements the clarity and colour of the woven designs.
The result is a balance of material, pattern and craft that has become unmistakably pampeano, without relying on overt branding.

an evolving collection
Over the past 18 years, the pampeano collection has grown beyond its original belt designs to include travel bags, wallets, washbags, keyrings and pet accessories.
The Pampa diamond appears throughout the range in ways that suit each product, whether woven into the strap of a travel bag or used as a subtle detail on a smaller leather accessory. New colourways and silhouettes have been introduced with restraint, allowing the collection to evolve while retaining a clear and recognisable identity.
The pampeano belts remain at the heart, but the wider range reflects how the brand has become part of different moments, daily routines, travel, gifting and time spent outdoors.

designed with individuality
Personalisation offers customers a way to make an accessory of their own.
Selected products can be finished with blind-embossed initials, adding a discreet and meaningful detail. Through the Design Your Own tool launched in 2021, customers can also select their preferred leather, thread colours, and hardware to create a custom belt or pet accessory, handcrafted to their chosen specifications.
This approach extends to pampeano's bespoke collections. This also works for schools, military regiments, sporting institutions, businesses and membership organisations to create accessories informed by their colours, insignia and heritage.
Each collaboration is approached as an interpretation rather than simply adding a logo, bringing together the organisation's identity and the craftsmanship associated with pampeano.

from La Pampa to an international audience
From its beginnings between Argentina and the UK, pampeano has grown into an international brand with a presence across Europe, Scandinavia and the United States.
In 2026, this journey continued with the launch of pampeano at Nordstrom and the opening of a new warehouse in Miami, strengthening the brand’s reach across the US and supporting its growing customer base.
Today, pampeano is available through hundreds of retailers in more than 30 countries, including John Lewis, Harrods, El Corte Inglés, Follestad and Care of Carl. These partnerships have introduced pampeano to new audiences while establishing its place within the premium lifestyle and menswear market.
As its international presence continues to grow, pampeano remains closely connected to the artisans, customers, retail partners and creative collaborators who have shaped pampeano.

This anniversary offers a moment to reflect on the many people who have shaped the pampeano story.
From the artisans who bring each pattern to life by hand to the customers who have made pampeano part of their wardrobes, homes, travels and celebrations, every relationship has played a meaningful role in the brand’s journey.
As pampeano enters its next chapter, the team looks ahead with renewed energy, with further developments still to come.
